Day 41 (S30)

Day 41
The next morning they used treestride to get home again, along with the golem, and thought about what they should do.
"I think we should go to Vorovni this week," Alice said, "I need to have those guys who owe me a build job renovate part of the house for the Golem to live in."
"You want that giant rock to live in our house?" Rina exclaimed.
"It'll fit easier once they renovate," Alice responded.
"You mean the guys you blackmailed?" Rina retorted.
"Yes, them," Alice said proudly, "Did you see how Drake's men worked? They were very safe and none of them got hurt. They even wouldn't let us in while they fixed the roof!"
"That begs the question: why do you want bad builder to do a build job for you?"
Alice didn't respond, but they both smiled.
"You know, I kind of like our antagonistic friendship," said Rina, "I'm never bored, at the very least."
"Agreed," said Alice, "You do need to lighten up though... and try some different foods! Liver is smelly!"
"I love almost all food," Rina said, "liver is just hard to get sometimes, so I have it when I can."
"I couldn't eat the same thing all the time," Alice said, "I like consistency, but I also need variety."
"I like variety, but sometimes need consistency," Rina replied.
"You know," Rina continued, "I think one of my goals in life is to experience everything I can... you know, within reason. It helps me remember things. As an elf I find it hard to remember a lot of my life, and that will only get worse as I get older. Long-lived beings tend to have poor memory. But if I do new things, different things, then it's easier to remember."
"Well, then let's dedicate ourselves to experience," said Alice as she lifted her glass.
Rina lifted her glass to that, and they had an uneventful evening afterward.
