Day 10 (S7-8)

Rina - Day 5, Left Duskford, Arrived at Castle Frey & began blending

In the morning as he watches the sunrise, Kin sees a Druse woman running from her home in panic, like there was a monster inside. Kin got on his horse and jumped over the water to get to land to help her. There was a monster, it was a Giant Snake. The snake was a small garden snake just the day before, but it had been mutated and was trying to kidnap / eat the woman’s daughter.

Kin got into the mind of the snake with Dominate Beast and found that someone else was already controlling it. Kin took over control and heard a jovial laugh from the being that was formerly in control. The laugh sounds like the laugh we heard at the goblin camp in Riverbend. This is likely the Jarl

The others see the fight and go to help. Rina used Dimension Door to get her and Aurelius to the fight immediately, and Alice used her broom to try and catch up.

Rina could hear the snake whispering something, so she activated beast speech at the beginning of battle and asked it “what do you have to say?” In its mind it began singing a song… something to do with rounding up people and eating their livers and the greatest prophecy

The snake then tries to get away, but we decide we can’t risk it trying to take or eat other people, so kin takes it out by banishing it to the fire plane. That’s when Alice arrives as a grizzly bear, and we have to go back to the boat by riding on her back. Rina mentions to the lady that the Sprite Light Coven of Vorovni is responsible for her being saved.

The captain was a bit pissed about all of that racket, so we gave him 3 gold for his trouble. He did say that he would like if we continued to ride south with him - free ride if we offer protection until we have to get off the boat. We only have 1 day in Castle Frey if we do this, so make it count (i.e., have a list of what you want out of this town for the next session cuz we prolly won’t be there long).

We arrive at Castle Frey - the entire city is one large castle. The outer area of the city is paved with black cobblestone, as you move in the stone becomes a lighter grey. In the center of the city is a gigantic center spire with lots of other sections split off from it that is completely white.

Rina wants to research the Royalty of The Kingdom of Bolgroth and more information on their culture - maybe she can do something to be more welcomed.

Rina day 6 - Arriving in castle Frey, ending tripping.

Started entering Castle Frey. Almost everyone here is Druse. We looked for a few different places.

Cartographer where we got an older map of the city.

Bookstore where Rina bought a general book on the history of Kay'Lend with some chapters on The Kingdom of Bolgroth.

Went to the ShapeSmithing school where they had a bunch of random stuff for sale. Rina got a cloak of protection.

The woman who worked there said that a member of the Fearsome 5 was there, CheepCheep - a Therianthrope of a bird variety. He got daggers, thinking that whatever they were going to fight would be hard to penetrate with normal weapons.

There we meet Drake, an old Dhampir blacksmith. He tells us to talk to King Francis about the F5 and about our success at Riverbend. King Sullivan Frey is over 900 years old

Went to the royal court and asked for an appointment - there is one in 3 days.

Went to a Library where Rina checked out a couple of Ritual scrolls and another book on Kay’lend’s history. We asked about the F5 and apparently Cheep Cheep and Marie (a human) came in for books. She saw another book in a restricted section all about Bolgroth; to get it, she will need to become a citizen by performing the ritual called “blending.” Cheep Cheep had also done the Blending.

Rina got 2 scrolls: Tiny Hut & Alarm

Both Alice and Aurelius joined her in the Blending that evening. We went to the Tunnel inn that was specifically designed to look like the caves that the Druse lived in hundreds of years ago. We all took mushrooms and began to trip in our own dream-like sequences. We could all see each other’s dreams.

Aurelius: His father was seen about to behead one of the Therianthrope, years ago in a village that no longer exists. He gets close enough to his father to yell to stop him.
Aruleus gets to the person his Alric Ravenwood was about to kill and Dimension Doors them away.

Kin sends a letter to Marcus to have our money deposited into a bank for us, but only the Blended can get a bank account here. He looks for Fey/ fiend magic and finds a huge fiend power from Rina. While we were tripping, Kin went to the CF Adventuring Guild to meet people and learn more about the city.
