Day 04 (S3-4)
(Start leaving Riverbend, end after the dance)
As Rina, Aurelius, and Kin run with their horses, and Alice flies with her broomstick, the wave of Shadow People begins to catch up with them.
Rina uses Sickening Radiance to try to keep some of them back, Alice uses Moonbeam, and Kin used spirit guardians to keep them off of him.
It was almost dawn as they saw Stoneslope come back into view. Rina's horse was the fastest of the group, except for Stormbreaker but Kin had stayed back on purpose to help protect the group.
Rina yelled at the guards at the entrance, "Let us pass! We need to get into the town!"
Instead the guards drew their swords upon seeing the shadows.
As they ran closer to the soldiers with dawn swords, the sun began to peek over the horizon. As the light hits field on which they run, the Shadow People dissipate faster and faster the farther the light reached. By the time the party reached Stoneslope, all of the Shadow People were gone - like shadows in the light of the sun.
The guards stepped aside and let the party in on their horses, still running at high speed.
"Why would you bring those things here?" One guard asked.
"We didn't mean to," answered Rina, "They chased us from Riverbend. This creature -" she gestured to the monster, "is what killed everyone in town down there. The shadows were just chasing us."
"We need to rest," Kin said.
"We have to be back in Vorovni tonight for the party" said Rina, "we don't have time for rest."
"Yeah, says the Warlock Elf who doesn't need sleep OR a long rest to get her spells back!" yelled Alice.
"Ok fine, but" started Rina, "it's about 6am now, the party is at 8pm and we still have travel time. Plus we have to actually turn in the quest and get invitations to said party."
"A short rest will have to do then" replied Kin.
At around 10am the group left Stoneslope, traveling as quickly as they can. They arrive in Vorovni around 4pm.
"Ok, the first order of business is turning in the quest" said Kin.
They head to the Vorovni Adventuring Guild to speak to Marcus again, dragging he body of the monster behind them on Alice's hinny. They opted to cover it with a sheet upon entering the city to avoid too many prying eyes.
"We have completed the mission about the Disappearing Village!" Alice announced to Marcus as we entered.
"Humph" Marcus laughed, "Anyone can say they did a thing. Where's the proof."
"Here ya go!" Aurelius groaned as he dropped the monster's body onto the table.
Marcus paused a moment. "So this is... what exactly?"
"This is the monster that killed everyone in the village" Rina responded.
Marcus looked at the body on the table, then looked at each of the party members and yelled "Loren! I need you!"
A young, thin, pale man with bad posture turned the corner, holding a pile of books. "Uh, yes Marcus?" he responded.
"I need wizard magic to make sure these people aren't lying."
"Uh, ok. One truth spell coming up. Who wants it?" Loren asked as he looked over everyone.
"I'll do it" said Rina.
She reiterated their story under the spell, adding even more detail than they told Marcus originally.
"Uh, yep she's... telling the truth." Loren said. "You need anything else, Marcus?"
"Yes, I need their paperwork and their reward." Marcus responded. "Oh, and now I will need a party name from you all."
They had not done much, if any, discussion of their party name. However, they all got together for one cause - to Get Sprite Light legitimized. "Why not call ourselves the Sprite's Lights?" Alice suggested.
Though it was a silly name, they all agreed. The others were mostly indifferent to the name overall.
"By the way" Kin turned to Marcus, "Do you know what this thing is, Marcus?"
Loren interrupted from the corner, "Uh, actually I do."
"Ahh, Lore Keeper Loren!" Kin said jokingly.
"Uh, yeah. So according to one of my books," Loren begins fingering through one of his books, "This this is called uh... a Bodak. Yeah, it's apparently some kind of inter-planar magical creature." Loren handed over the 11k gold to the party, and most of them began to move out.
"Who wrote that book?" Rina asked.
"Uh... the author isn't listed. But I uh, I got it from the library in Castle Frey when I was studying magic there. It wasn't the only copy."
"Thanks Loren." Rina said, as she followed the rest of the party out of the adventuring guild.
"I think we should put half of all the money we make as a party aside for later" Kin suggested, "then split the other half evenly." They all agreed. Each of them getting 1375 gold, and the rest going into a party fund. "This is exactly why I got that chest!" said Kin, "Now I need to go get it back so we can use it."
The party stopped by Henry's horses and got the chest. "Oi!" Henry III exclaimed, "I kept it safe for ya!" He dug it up and handed it over, now covered in mud (both he and the chest).
"Thanks again, Henry. Can we also leave our horses here to board for the night?"
"Of course!" Henry responded, "But it'll cost ya!"
Kin handed one 1 gold, which covered the boarding of all 4 horses for the night.
They then head to the Mayor's office where Neely works.
She greeted them before they could speak, "Oh it's you! I heard you um, finished your job." She said, "I already got your invitations ready!"
Rina walked up and hugged her again, "Thanks, Neely. You're fast!"
"Well, um, to tell the truth" she stuttered, "I already had them made up in hopes you would make it in time."
"Is there anything else we need before this gathering?" asked Kin,
"Oh, um, well, you will want to wear something a little nicer than what you all have on right now." She answered, "You should go see Jen at the boutique down the road. She will get you some nicer clothes."
They entered the boutique with the ring of a bell, and heard a sweet voice across the shop. "Hi there, what can I do for you all today?" Jen addressed them as she moved to the front.
"We all need new clothes" said Alice.
"Except me" interjected Rina, "My Clothes of Mending are nice and already tailored to me."
"Well okay!" Jen said in a perky voice, "What kind of clothes are y'all lookin for?"
Kin asked for a nicer cover for his armor, and asked if she could shine it. "Oh sure! We have some polish in the back we use for that all the time! Do you want that too, sweetheart?" she asked as she gestured to Aurelius' armor.
"Oh yeah of course. And I want a cool cape!" Aurelius said.
"I would like a nice pair of pants!" said Alice.
"You... want pants?" Jen asked, "Wouldn't you want somethin a little nicer than pants?"
"Nope! Nice pants and a nice shirt. That's all I need." Alice responded.
Jen got everyone what they needed, and time drew close for the Sprite's Lights to make their first official appearance at the Mayor Highwater of Vorovni's ball.
The mayor's home was the most opulent in the city aside from the Church. The front gates entered to a large courtyard of stone, with sections of grass and trees. The area was magically kept warm despite the winter chill everywhere else, and little lights floated in the air to keep the courtyard lit. The trees are flowering, and their flower petals fall around everyone in the busy ball before magically disappearing just before hitting the ground.
The entire courtyard was scattered with people. Most of them gathered in small groups of 4 to 6 people - these are the other greatly successful adventuring parties of Vorovni.
The Mayor sees them enter and approaches them.
"Hello there! You must be the new Adventuring Party in town! What are you called, again? The light of um..."
"The Sprite's Lights" Alice said.
"Oh yes! Of course! Well, please, feel free to help yourself to the food and the wine, and dancing!" the mayor replied.
On the left hand side of the Mayor, an old, olive skinned man in white robes approaches the party.
"Hello, I am one of the Cardinals of Luminus, I am Pontain." He said with a bit of a disgusted look on his face, "I am here to make sure our mayor stays true to the light of Luminus."
Then a beautifully dressed witch of the Daybreak Coven floated to the Mayor's right side. They were wholly androgynous, with a buzzed haircut and neutral features. "Good evening, new adventurers. I am Mx. Rizvic - the witch dedicated to balancing the Mayor's decisions when Pontain leads him astray." they said.
Pontain gave Rizvic an even more disgusted look than he usually had on his face.
"Bahahahaha" the Mayor laughed, "You two are always such fun! Come, I want another drink! Neely!" He yelled, and we saw the same secretary who was at his office earlier bring him another glass.
"Um, here sir." she said sheepishly,
"Oh thank you my dear!" the mayor says loudly as he puts his arm around her, making her clearly uncomfortable.
"Um, you're welcome. I've got to go, um... do more paperwork now." she said, clearly not needing to do paperwork, but obviously wanting to get away from this creepy old man.
"Aurelius," Rina whispered, "what's the deal with the Witch and the Cardinal doing here with the mayor? You used to work for Luminus, didn't you? Do you know?"
"Uh, yeah" Aurelius started, "You see, each of the leaders of Asmery have both a witch and a cardinal at their side to keep the balance. Neither the Church of Luminus, nor the Great Pyre where the witches are based should have too much power. They are both here to keep things as fair as possible."
Just then, Pontain approaches Aurelius. "Did I just hear that you used to work for Luminus?"
Aurelius, startled, responds, "Uh, no my dad did." This was a lie, and Pontain could tell.
"Why, pray tell, would anyone leave the great light of luminus? Certainly one such as the great Ravenwood?"
"He um..." Aurelius paused, unsure what to say to pile onto his previous lie, he resorted to his own feelings about leaving the Army of Luminus, "He wanted to find his own path, I guess."
"Hmm" replied Pontain, "Shame that anyone would leave the great light for something so..." his eyes drift to Rina, "vulgar... as the simple life of an adventurer." Pontain seems to know that Aurelius was speaking of his own experience.
"And you," Pontain says as he looks Rina up and down, "your magic seems... foreign to me. Do you conjure it yourself?"
Rina paused, but answered honestly, "My magic isn't mine. I contracted for it."
"Hmm" Pontain starts again, "Only devils and witches deal in magic contracts. Which are you?"
"Neither," Rina responded honestly again.
"Hmm..." Pontain shakes his head, "I will be keeping an eye on you. Elf." he sniffs at Rina as he walks away. "You and your... party... should attend more of these gatherings."
"By the way," Pontain added, "if you meet anyone from the Eyeless Cult, please do let me know. They have been spreading a... dark... magic around the area. We can all agree that we can't have that."
Rina narrows her eyes, wondering what he could mean by that.
As he walks away, Rizvic approaches the two of them. "Don't mind him, he's mostly harmless. Especially with me around" they said. "You say your name is the Sprite's Lights? Is that not the name of the up and coming Coven?"
"Yes, we are hoping to help them" Rina responded, "Alice, the halfling over there" Rina gestures toward Alice, who has already had multiple drinks, "She thought it would help get their name out there to get them recognition."
"Well, it's not a bad idea" Rizvic answered, "As long as you don't mess up." They winked. "As you are trying to gain favor with the already-established covens" Rizvic continued, "The Twilight Coven Has Worries about something recently. I don't have the details, but I'm sure they'd be grateful for the help." They winked again, and gently floated away.
Kin was keeping quiet and keeping his head down. In the corner, he and another similarly-dressed man sat quietly. Finally, the other man spoke up, "So, did you hear about one of the Fingers of Luminus being found dead?" he asked Kin.
"Oh, uhh, no I had not heard that," Kin responded, still acting like he didn't want to talk. But the other man did not get the hint.
"Yeah, it seems like he killed himself in his chambers" the man continued, "and now he's going to have to be replaced by someone. I wonder how they will pick someone to replace a man who was such a good warrior."
"Oh, he was a good warrior, huh?" Kin asked, still uninterested, but pretending to care about the conversation to keep the peace.
"Oh yes! All of the Fingers of Luminus are the best warriors in the country. That's how they get their positions of being the “Left hand” of the city of Everhelm, particularly the Church of Luminus" the man continued, "there's 5 of them, obviously - they call it the 'hand' after all. Seems odd that one would off himself, don't ya think?"
Kin continued to pretend he cared about the man droning on and on.
After Alice had a few drinks, a tall, scruffy man in his mid-30s approached her. "Hello, small beauty" he said in a thick Spanish accent while she was mid drink.
"You talkin bout me?" Alice responded.
"Yes, I have seen you from across the way, and I would very much like... to dance with you." He said, "I am Alejandro of the Salt Slayers."
Rina overheard the conversation and interrupted, "She'd LOVE to!" Rina answered for Alice and pushed her toward him.
"Uh, ok, yeah sure." said Alice.
"You need to have a little fun" Rina said with a wink.
Alice brushed the crumbs off of her new shirt, and reached out her hand to dance.
"I hear you are a part of a new adventuring party" he said.
"Yeah he just finished our first quest earlier today," Alice responded.
"Your first?" he asked, surprised, "You must have finished quite the impressive quest to be able to attend this ball, then."
Alejandro seemed to occasionally duck underneath things that were far above his head. Alice thought this was odd, but didn't ask questions.
"Yeah, we finished the Disappearing Village quest" she answered.
"Oh! We almost took that quest" he said, "But decided to take the Monster in the East quest instead. We leave for that tomorrow."
"Oh," Alice said, "darn we were going to do that. I don't know what we will do now."
"Well, if you want a more... personal... quest" he said hesitantly, "Some friends of ours, an Adventuring Party called the Fearsome 5, left for a quest a few weeks ago. They went to the southwest of here and they haven't come back. It is unlike them to not contact us with a sending or something of the like. We expected them to be here, but they aren't." He explained, worried.
"Tell me more about them" Alice said, "Maybe we will look for them."
"Oh, that would be wonderful!" he responded, "They are mostly from Basta'Thrope'."
"That's the newer country, right?" Alice asked, "There's a bunch of animal people there?"
"Yes" he answered, "They were on an important quest, but beyond that I not very little."
The two of them continued to dance until the song was over. Rina looked proud of herself to getting them together.
Across the way, a young girl with two other party members approached Rina looking quite shy. "Um, hello" she said as the two men in her party quietly cheered her on from the corner, "I am Siske."
"Oh, nice to meet you. I am Rina."
"So, um... I think you're incredibly beautiful and..." she paused, Rina looked surprised, "and um... I was wondering if you..." Siske looked back at her friends, still cheering for her. She took a large gump, "I would like to dance with you."
Rina smiled softly, "Though you aren't my usual type, I will happily dance with you for this song, Siske."
Siske looked back at her party members and gave a thumbs up, they jumped for joy for her.
The two of them started to dance, "Tell me about you, Siske" Rina started, "What's the most interesting thing you've seen on your adventures?"
"Oh! I'd actually love more to hear about you... but..." she hesitated, "Have you ever seen a Dragon before?" Siske asked excitedly.
"Not in person, no" Rina replied, "I heard they went extinct like a thousand years ago."
"Well, I think I saw one" Siske said, "Well, a woman who had the head of a dragon, anyway."
"A Dragon woman?" Rina asked, "Where?"
"I saw her Cofamoso in a tavern near Fencia."
"Wow, you've traveled a long way" Rina said, "That's about as far away as you can get and still be in Kay'Lend."
"Yes, we've been everywhere it seems." Siske answered with a little laugh.
At that point, the song was ending. Rina glanced over at Aurelius to see him dancing with a large Orc woman from the Salt Slayers. "I like you, little man." she said as she threw him up in the air like a ragdoll. Aurelius seemed too terrified to say no.
"Haha" Alejandro laughed as he approached Aurelius after the song, "She seems to like you! She doesn't tolerate just anyone!"
Aurelius noticed Alejandro's shield, it was wooden with a smooth red gem in the center. If it was turned one way it looked like it was smiling, the other way it looked like a frown.
"Where did you get that?" asked Aurelius.
"Oh this? This was gotten off of a man I killed on the high seas!" Alejandro answered.
"I really like it" said Aurelius, "can I trade you?" Aurelius presented his shield - it was one adorned with the gems and filigree of Luminus.
"Eyyy no" said Alejandro, "I would not give it up! It is priceless to me!"
Kin then entered the conversation, "What if I gave you 10 gold for it?"
Alejandro paused, "Ey, I think that's a fine price!"
Kin got the shield, as he had needed one for a while.
"Hey!" Kin started, "This shield is actually just a piece of junk!"
"All sales are final!" Alejandro said as he looked for someone else to dance with when the next song started.
At the beginning of the next song, another man approached Rina "My lady, would you like to dan-" He stopped mid sentence and turned completely pale as he looked behind Rina. He quickly backed up and walked away.
The air turned cold, and Rina could feel this cold was coming from where the man was looking.
She slowly turned around to see a pale, well dressed man, with a perfectly tailored, dark blue suit. His black hair, and a short beard stood out against his almost blue skin, and his eyes pierced her soul with an icy blue.
"Hello, Rina" he said as he bowed slightly, "May I have this dance?"
Rina had never been more attracted to anyone than him at first glance. She could not say no.
"Of course" she answered as she grabbed his open hand.
They begin to dance, with no words between them for a few moments - she was simply getting lost in his icy blue eyes. Even his hands seemed cold as ice.
After a few moments he spoke, "I am sorry for the pain I caused you earlier."
She looked confused.
"I simply had to have you. Which meant killing the devil you contracted with."
"You killed a devil?" Rina asked, still unsure what was going on.
"Not just any devil, Rina" he responded, "I killed YOUR devil. You see, I needed to be the one to hold your contract. I'd like to make a deal with you."
"What..." Rina started, "What deal? You killed my devil? How do I still have magic?"
"Oh, yes, that little... ordeal on the battlefield earlier. I'm sure you noticed." he said.
"You did that? By killing my devil?" She asked.
"Yes, and I replaced your magic... with my own." he answered.
Rina then realized, this was a powerful being. And he had stolen her.
"What do you want with me?" she asked.
"I want you to do a job for me." he said, "In exchange for saving your son."
She stopped mid-dance. "What do you know about my son?" she said.
He pulled her along in the dance, "I know he and his people are in danger. As well as their souls."
"Why do you care about that?" she asked.
"Because, Rina..." he started, "I have a plan for them. All of the beast people. And I need your help to complete it."
"Why me?" she asked.
"Because you are... Ancient" he twirled her away, "Wise..." he twirled her close, "and Beautiful..." he twirled her back to a normal dancing position, "and we both want the same thing."
They both paused.
"We both want to save to beast people. We both want to save your son." he said.
"Then... that's not even a decision" she said, "I've already sold my soul for my son."
"Then transitioning to being MY warlock shouldn't be much of a change for you, will it?" he asked.
"Who... who even are you?" She asked in return.
He paused for a moment... "Enoch." he finally answered as he dips her deeply at the end of the song, "I'm the Prince of Hell."
The song ended and Rina stood back up to find Enoch had completely disappeared, his cold leaving with him - but she knew this would not be the last time she saw him.
S4:
After the dance with Enoch, Kin walks up to Rina, "We should talk to the Mayor." he says, "I want to get out of here."
After collecting Alice and Aurelius, they walk over to Mayor Highwater of Vorovni. Neely was there with him, making sure he had a drink in his hand whenever he wanted one, or food whenever he asked.
"Hi Neely!" Rina said, "Hope you and the Mayor are having a good time here," she moves her eye contact to the mayor.
"Oh yes!" the mayor responded, "Jolly good time here! What can I do for you uhh..." the mayor paused, "The Sprite' Lights? Is that it?"
"Yes, right as usual" Rina started, "we were actually hoping to talk to you about the Sprite Light coven."
"Oh right, the new coven, yes? What do they have going on? I'm curious!" he said.
"Yes, as am I..." Pontain said as he approached from behind the mayor.
Rizvic then also approaches the conversation, "I heard you speaking of the covens?" they said.
Alice spoke up, "Yeah, we - Kin and I - represent the Sprite Light coven. They're trying to get established, as you all know."
"How fun! A new coven getting established! Haven't seen that in all of my days." replied the mayor, "What do you need from me in this regard?"
"The coven needs to own some land to get established," Kin started, "They are hoping to own the Pixie Woods to the northeast of here."
The Mayor scratched his beard.
"We don't need another coven" Pontain said, "Three is enough."
"But that land is not doing the city any good as it is" began Rizvic, "Someone who can use it to our benefit may as well have a chance."
The mayor thought for a moment, glancing at the two of them. "I'd like to hear them out!" he said.
"The Sprite Light coven would like to own the land of the Pixie Woods, and - in exchange - will pay Vorovni in raw Iron."
"How much iron?" the mayor asked.
"We believe we can give at least 6 tons to start" Alice said, "but there is likely more in the ground there that can be extracted with magic."
"Hmm" the mayor thought some more, "I would like at least 12 tons, with the first 6 up front."
"When do you want the rest?" asked Kin.
"How about... within a year of the contract signing?" the mayor suggested. "Plus I want a 35% discount on any additional for the year as well."
"So, you will give the entirely of the Pixie woods to the Sprite Light coven" Kin started, "In exchange you want 6 tons of raw iron immediately, and another 6 tons over the next year? Plus a discount on any extra?"
"That is hardly enough" Pontain said to the mayor, "If there's that much iron there, we might as well get it ourselves. We don't need them."
"But..." Rizvic interjected, "there have been rumors of monsters in the woods. That's why no one goes there. Perhaps if the coven can offer protection from them as well..."
"Done" Kin said immediately, "Is there anything else you would want from the coven for this?"
The mayor thought more and answered, "There also used to be an old mill on the north end of town - we could really use that for the city, but no one has been able to put effort into it."
"Done" Kin said again. "Do we have a deal? 6 tons of iron now, 6 more over the next year - Plus your discount, of course. And we fix up the old mill while guaranteeing protection from monsters in the forest."
"Bahaha!" the mayor laughed, "I haven't had this much fun all year! You have a deal! Neely!"
"Oh, um, yes Mr. Mayor?" she answered.
"Write up a contract for us to sign and bring it here" said the mayor, "We have a deal to make!"
Neely returned a bit later with a giant book that she could barely carry, full of different contracts and agreements of the mayor, and an ink pen that retained its own ink to sign with.
"Um, I have written everything out for you." she said, "it took me a little bit but I think it's all in here."
The mayor and the party looked it over, the mayor signed first. Then Kin and Alice signed on behalf of the Sprite Light coven, as they were asked to do.
"Wonderful!" laughed the Mayor, "Now, please allow me to get back to the festivities!" As the mayor walked away, Rina could see that Rizvic seemed to have a thin, magical string attached to the mayor's ear. "You owe me one" they said to Kin, who was the only one still close enough to hear them.
"What would you want of the coven in exchange for your support?" Kin asked.
"There is a vote coming up soon for something important to me" they said, "I would like you to vote with me."
"I will let the leader of the Sprite Light coven know of this." Kin responded.
Rizvic left with a wink once again.
Rina could see this conversation as she mingled with the other 2 of the party, "What did Rizvic want, exactly?" she asked Kin once he rejoined the group.
"They want to coven to Vote with Them on something. I'm unsure exactly." Kin responded.
Rina then noticed the man who began to ask her to dance before Enoch interrupted him. She decided to ask him more about Enoch.
"Sir," she said, he noticed her and almost just ignored her. "Sir I'm sorry, to bother you," she continued, "but do you know that guy? The one who danced with me after you walked away?"
He paused and looked around, his eyes shifting back and forth in fear. "Um, no. I don't know him." he said, "All I know is that when I saw him... If I had asked you to dance... I felt that I might die."
Rina's expression softened, "Ahh... ok, I'll leave you be, then. Thank you." she said, and the man walked to the other side of the courtyard quickly.
As the man walked away, Rina noticed Alejandro in a scuffle with a Halfling girl, they were both yelling at each other, and it appeared they may even get into a physical altercation.
Rina walked up and stepped between them, "This is not the place for a fight," she said.
The two of them paused for a second, then started laughing.
"Haha, thank you for your concern, my friend" Alejandro said, "But this is just my little hard head of a sister."
As he said that, the halfling began trying to fight again, "Who are you callin a hard head, I'll rip out yer eyes!" she yelled while Alejandro laughed some more and held her back by holding her back by her forehead.
"Ahh, I see" Rina said, "Though, you're siblings? You look nothing alike."
Alejandro paused a moment and laughed again, "...even more than you know, miss Elf." he said.
"Rina." she responded, "My name is Rina."
"Ey, Rina." he said more respectfully. "Have you met Rivo?" he said as he gestured to a Half-Elf woman with the rest of his party.
Rina glanced at Rivo, she had long, rusty-blonde hair with a circlet of leaves and berries on it. She wore long white robes. She made eye contact with Rina, but then quickly looked away.
"I will have to speak to her some other time, it seems" Rina said.
"Don't take it personally," Alejandro responded, "Rivo is not too talkative even on the best of days."
"How did you all meet?" Rina asked, "You are a bit of a hodge-podge little group. A couple humans, an orc, a half elf, a halfling..."
"Ahh, we are the Salt Slayers!" he said, "We all met on the high seas, most of us were pirates. We all joined together because of our meeting on the salty seas."
"Pirates, huh? Wouldn't have expected that from a half-elf like Rivo" Rina responded.
Alejandro laughed, "And what about you? You four seem just as hodge-podge to me. What is your party name, anyway?"
"The Sprite's Lights." Rina said hesitantly.
"Bahahaha!" he laughed again, "What a cutesy name."
"Yeah, Alice came up with it." Rina responded.
"Well, in that case, I love it!" Alejandro responded as he winked at Alice.
"Come on," Alice said, "We got what we came for, now we need to get going." she started pulling on Rina's arm.
"See you around, salt lickers." Rina said.
"Not if I see you first!" Alejandro yelled back as they left.
The party went back to the inn, Kin said quietly under his breath, "Now the sprite light coven can Bring back the Fey."
"Bring them back?" asked Rina, "Is that why they need the Pixie Woods?"
"Yeah, that's apparently where they used to live many years ago. But they can't exist where there's iron in the ground. That's why we offered the mayor raw Iron."
"I wonder what it is about iron that keeps them from coming here." Rina said under her breath.
This night, Rina got a room alone. She did not want any roommates after meeting the Devil Enoch. She knew he'd be coming to speak to her soon.
